HOMMES AVEC DÈCORATIFS
MENSWEAR COLLECTION MAR 2019
Hommes Avec Decoratifs is inspired by the style period Art Deco and it’s fantastic prints and embellishments and combine both masculinity and femininity. The collection will convey the grand exterior people portrayed, where people dressed up to go out in public and show their worth, through their appearance & gestures.
Nordic Kabuki is a combination of Nordic elegance, minimalism and beauty, mixed with the traditional Japanese art form of Kabuki theatre, dating back since the 17th century. Kabuki can be interpreted as "avant-garde" or "bizarre" theatre, shown through dance, dramatisation and reflecting Japanese mythology and history.
My goal was to create a collection that could tell the story of Kabuki and make people want to learn about this grand art form, turning traditional Kabuki costumes, prints, materials and colours into 21st century fashion.

My first construction assignment at VIA University College. I was challenged to find inspiration in an artwork exhibited at the Heart Museum in Herning. I picked the purple paintings by Troels Wörsel. They inspired me to look into the history of purple, religion and royalty. And that is where i drew my inspiration.
